My Story through horde

Chess variantOff topic
How I made 2600 horde after a year

It all started in March 2020, when the pandemic reached Spain. I had been playing since 2019, but never a variant. One day, a friend taught me to play RK @ElenaPozo_CHO, and so I discovered that in lichess you could also play different variants of normal chess. The second I tried was horde, at the end of April when things had gotten very bad, and we were confined at home without being able to leave. I've always been fast moving, so playing hyper horde was very easy for me. After playing for a while, I got a low DR and my score stabilized between 1950 and 2000.

I did this without once looking at the analysis of any game. I read the instructions and saw that White had to checkmate and Black eat all the pawns. nothing else. so surprisingly, and moving very fast my rating went up very fast. At the 2k point, people were already pretty decent, so it was harder for me to win. but little by little it got better, and after reviewing some simple but efficient openings, I reached 2100 in June of the same year. all this I have to admit that playing hyper. At this point, I saw that there was a "ranking" and that the top 100 had a very cool trophy on their profile. the moment i saw it, i didn't stop playing until i got it. It was around 2100, much lower at that time.

During the month of July I learned a very effective opening, thanks to the study of @Sinamon73 <3. So in August I hit 2200. The next thing was to discover the top 50 trophy. That was very good. August was the month in which I learned the most. I played a lot against @ David55555, and it was very interesting because every day we played, one of the two he played different openings better than the other's. So that night the one who lost the match was studying ways to stop that opening and so on. it was very funny.

In September I got 2300, it was as if they shook my hand, but I took my whole arm. It was a serious mistake that would mark a lot the following months, fortunately for the better. The rating was so high that I wanted more. And since I didn't have the ability to follow them on my own, I decided to cheat. I still regret it, but that's what happened. They banned me the next day and I completely regretted it. I convinced myself to write apologizing to lichess, and since they saw that I was truly sorry, they let me create a new account.

November 13, 2020. @ LuquiHorde08 is created. I went up fast to 2400 and I stayed up there for a while. I learned quite a few tricks with White and so @tcf_namelecc couldn't beat me so easily;) I learned a bit about horde's history, and started following some of the best. @Stubenfisch, @ Sinamon73 @Deneris .. my first win against Stuben was this one:

I was so happy that I couldn't believe it. I was very lucky but I won, which is what counts. in December, I hit 2,500 and thought about stopping. But I wanted more. Oh and I forgot. I got the top 10 (no cheating) in November 2020.

I spent a season at 2400 (January, February) and started gaining followers and fame. People liked to see me play that horde so fast and fun. I started creating tournaments and people really liked it: https://lichess.org/tournament/P8pz60Bs And one great day, the great @ Sinamon73 joined my team, followed me and sent me the link of the Hyper Horde Championship. I couldn't believe it was true. an official hyper horde tournament. This was during March and some of April if I remember correctly. I was third, losing in the semis against sinamon. And Stuben also started to follow me :)

In April 2020, for my birthday I became a patron of lichess, and I still want to be one. In May, I met tons of new people like @WhitedancingRockstar. I liked meeting new people and made a lot of new friends. In June, I finally reached 2600 and in July, I created @GreenDeen and after an exciting match against Fritzi, I reached 2700 (thanks to the fact that the RD was high) and I got top 1. mindhunter was the higher rated but as he didnt played that week I was 1 # for a whole day. It was wonderful.

Later, a great friend @Iwasinelectrical convinced me to join The House Discord Server and I met a lot of new people including @Opperwezen;) in 2 months this account will be one year old. Nowadays, I play to have fun, challenging myself every day, if not by a friend. Currently I want to get 2700 and retire, but I don't think it can be until I remove myself from the HWC; p. I hope that after this year and a half I still have many good experiences in lichess. Thank you very much for reading and I hope you liked it :)
