How I got to 2000 and Antichess Candidate Master (ACM)

Trash at Antichess?

At the beginning of my journey, I started playing Antichess just to have a rating of over 1000. So I was rated 1006. I was absolutely trash at this variant.

How I improved from 1000 to 1500:

I discovered Yourself1010 Antichess Youtube tutorials and watched 'em all in one sitting. Then I rewatched it two more times. I played some games after that and got to 1200. Then I quit for 10 days, thinking that that was enough. After this, I studied some openings and saw myself going up to 1400 in 5 or 6 days. After that, I started sweating at every game. I did not want to quit because 1500 is the average rating on Lichess, and I wanted to become better than average and then quit.

Getting past 1500:

I was stuck on 1500 for more than a month (August–September). But in the end, I played some hyper-antichess and got to 1600. Yep, Hyper Antichess is the best!

Getting to 1800:

Now, in 1800, I consider "good" on Lichess. This took me two months. Yes, it took me 2 months to get from 1600 to 1800. I thought of quitting, but I did not. At the end, I just played Bullet Antichess and got to 1800.

I QUIT?

I got to 1800 and quit. Yes, I quit for 2 months, from October to December. I quit because I was getting worse at regular chess (or so I thought). I really liked Antichess and was thinking about it a lot. So I decided to play a couple of games.

Getting to 2000:

But I had to get to 1900. That was pretty easy. I played Hyper-Antichess. And in a couple of days, I got to 1900. It was really easy. So now I am 1900, and in how many days do you think I will get to 2000? one month? 2 months? No, 3 days! A new year present! I just played Hyper-Antichess to get to 2000.

Now I did the hard part of getting to 2000, but I had to play 1000-rated antichess games to get to ACM.

So I played 108 hyper-antichess games in one sitting and claimed my ACM!
