Hi all, welcome to my second blog! In this post, I'm gonna be telling you how I created Jumpsey and how did it become so famous in the Lichess Community. Hope you enjoy :)
Well, you might be thinking "Wow! I wonder how she got that amazing idea to make a Jumping Horsey. It's so famous now!" I'm honest, I didn't mean to create Jumpsey. It kinda got famous by 'Accident'.
So, it was February 9th, 2021 (The day when Jumpsey was made). I was new to logo making and didn't know much about it either. I was really interested in becoming a forum poster as well, then I decided to make a forum post in the Off-topic-discussion titled, "If you were a Lichess Founder, what logo would you create?" I also got an idea of creating a Jumping horsey, but after posting it I never knew it would get so much appreciation. To be honest, I still do not understand what is so special about this Jumping Horsey. At least I'm happy that a lot of people like it :)
If you don't know how to create Jumpsey, I made it on a website called "giphy.com". You may follow my steps so you could create your own Jumpsey:
1: Register an account on giphy.com
2: Then, click "Create" which is on the top right corner beside your username.
3: You get a lot of options, but to create Jumpsey you will need to make a sticker.
4: Make sure you have the Horsey image downloaded on your computer and then upload it after you click the "Sticker" button.
5: After you upload it, you have to trace the Horsey image carefully. (It may take a while to trace it)
6: After you're done tracing the horsey, click "Animate" which is below the other four options.
7: Currently, there are six animation options. You have to click "Bouncy" so it Jumps.
8: Next, you have to add the stroke to your Jumpsey. It's your choice about the stroke, but the one I added is the tenth option.
9: Click "Continue to upload" Then, you have to click "Upload to giphy"
10: Next, you simply have to copy the gif link and upload it to imgur.
