Terrrible Lichess Lag - It’s not me!

I thought the issue had been resolved. I was observing ping times of 20 ms (from Germany) and could play two blitz games without any problems apart from my bad moves. But now ping times have gone up to over 2000 ms again (and server response times of > 100 ms instead of the usual 1 or 2 ms).

This also happened to me in the last game at the last move; I suddenly lost on time. I can't see the game; lichess hasn't processed it yet. I can't start any other games either because the server still thinks I'm in the middle of a match. Finally: lichess.org/dXThdbigUKxG

Right now, I see the "reconnecting" message all the time; every minute or so, it disappears for a few seconds. Playing is impossible at the moment.

The problem has been going on for over a day now. Why are there no comments from lichess employees or representatives? There was a promotional message on twitter 6 hours ago. Why the hell aren't they commenting on what's going on?

There was a message about DDoS attacks.

I ain't even mad, just crossed 2100 ELO for the first time after my opponent run out of time in a winning position

This is a good time for everyone complaining to consider making a donation to Lichess so that they can upgrade their infrastructure.
