No, not this year. He chose not to participate. Otherwise, he would have been in the lower pool instead and then played Candidates to the finals. Same goes for Ogul, although he would have been in the higher pool instead.
Isn't antichess weakly solved as a win for white with 1.e3 ? I don't understand why it's being played as a world cup if white just always wins.
#8 It is true that antichess is a theoritical win for White but it is nearly impossible to prove it theoritically. Black has many good options and if White makes a single mistake against any of them it will be White himself who'll have an inferior (maybe even lost) position. White scores about 55% after the winning move 1 e3, which is also an indication of how tough it is to provr White's winning advantage.
