I have heard a similar saying but not exactly that (Arabic) one.
An interesting endgame idea of checkmate with two knights came from your game which @)MrPushwood noted.

In your game after 57th move of White, suppose Black plays N6b7 then take that position.
Ignore, neglect Black h-pawn in the position and suppose it doesn't exist.
If we remove White's f-pawn as well. then Black can do a two knight checkmate.
I am talking about a possible continuation of game that can lead to a 2 Knight mate.

Absolutely beautiful game despite the mistakes and blunders.
Very very nice.
I will say I don't believe in making anything but the most precise move except when your position is already lost.
