Every piece is sort of what you would come up if you were on your own - the little pieces that go only in a single line forward, the piece that goes in STRAIGHT lines, the piece that goes DIAGONAL, the piece that goes STRAIGHT & DIAGONAL, the piece that can go in any way but only ONE move...
But HORSEY is what really makes this game slap. It makes everything different and less predictable. It breathes life into my life.
So, of course, the Knight.

Ooh, great question! I think I’d go with the knight. It's such a weirdo compared to the other pieces—moves in an L-shape, jumps over others, and just has this sneaky energy. Knights are perfect for surprise forks and tricky tactics, especially in cluttered positions where other pieces get stuck. There's something really satisfying about watching a knight hop into an unexpected square and wreck someone’s whole plan.

Shogi: Dragon King.
Xiangqi: Chariot, of course.
Chushogi: Free King(Moves like an orthodox queen).
Every: Royal pieces, including King, General, or Jewelery General(King in Shogi).
