Are you bored of long theoretical horde games? Do you like dirty tricks and mindless premoving? Then we have the tournament for you!
We all know that going from a blitz time control to hyper can make a variant feel like an entirely different game, and no variant experiences this difference more than horde. The number of moves it takes to play the average horde game makes mouse-speed a huge factor in succeeding at hyper horde. As such, there are many players in our team that excel at slow horde, but trail behind in hyper, and vice versa. Since the Horde World Championship favors the former, we give you a tournament to finally integrate our community: the Hyper Horde Championship!
As this is not an official lichess world championship, there will be no unique trophy for the winner of this tournament. But don’t worry, we certainly make up for it with a prize fund of 60 USD! So warm up your wrists, and we’ll see you in the bracket!
