I use ChessMonitor very often since some months, because it helps me to prepare against my opponents in classical online tournaments. It gives me deep insights into the openings of other chess players and I learn a lot about myself, because I get some statistics about my chess behavior. On thing I want to emphasize: this tool is very performant. If I open the bookmarked profiles it needs 2-3 seconds to load and display the data! And: it is incredible what free users get offered! ... Okay, I have the plus sub to get all advanced features. :-)

Thank you very much for you kind words!

I am also a fan of ChessMonitor. The fact that it aggregates both lichess and chesscom games makes it great for preparing for opponents and also tracking your progress. The position explorer is really nice because it aggregates both lichess and chess com stats in one explorer which I think makes it the biggest source of statistics for games played online.

I am a big fan of ChessMonitor. It is awesome and a great way to track your own progress. Does ChessMonitor get inspired by DotaBuff? Since they do look similar but different.

Thanks, Matt!
@Fossil123 Yes, that's where the original inspiration came from (was a Dota player myself...)! If you check out the original reddit post you see it looked even more like Dotabuff at the start...

I'm a huge fan of your site and have been using it a lot since it's release. The only thing that's been a major flaw, imo, is that transpositions didn't work in the past. For instance, it would show me different games for 1.e4 c5 2.c3 d5 3.exd5 Qxd5 4.d4 cxd4 5.cxd4 Nc6 6.Nf3 Bg4 7.Nc3 and 1.e4 c5 2.c3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.cxd4 d5 5.exd5 Qxd5 6.Nf3 Bg4 7.Nc3 which is a shame, since both move orders are fairly frequent on my level.
Is this something that has been changed? If not, do you plan on implementing transpositions in the future?

Hi Victor!
Thanks for the feedback. Transpositions are currently not implemented (yet), but it's on the TODO list.
I hope to be able to implement this soon! It's one of the oldest feature suggestions even... https://www.chessmonitor.com/suggestions/4
