For me?
Being alone holds few terrors. I've been alone most of my life. At one time, in a land where few spoke my native English, and I couldn't trust those who did. Being poor? I've lost everything on more than one occasion, always found a way to get by. Pain? For the past 30 years I've seen my body slowly decay. As much from injuries of activity as of neglect.
What hurts is the thought of losing my wife and daughters.
