Hey fellow chess explorers!
While scrolling through social media, I found a short video of Anatoly Karpov (Yes—the legendary World Champion!) explaining a powerful idea behind a winning strategy. It really caught my attention, and I ended up watching it a few times to try and understand what he meant.
Here's the link if you want to check it out:
Karpov Explains Strategy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ0gzVCsJgU
What I found cool is how calm and simple he makes it sound—even though it's deep stuff. He talks about how to think about an opponent worked really well for him
Have you ever had a game where the opening you played was passive even though you were stronger than your opponent?
What do you think Karpov means by defending than counterattacking?
Have you ever played the Caro-Kann defense? What do you think about that opening?
Would love to hear your thoughts! Let’s learn from the classics together
