We organise games via a ladder system:

• A ladder is a pool of chess players, initially ranked by their Lichess classical ratings

• You can challenge people higher in the ladder, and if you win you take their position and they drop down a place

• Challenges must be accepted. If you don't accept, or don't play, you forfeit the game.

• Do this too often, and you're removed from the ladder
