Thompson Middle School

Thompson Middle School Chess is a club for students interested in learning and playing from both Thompson and Wredling Middle Schools. All grade levels (6th, 7th & 8th) are welcomed to join. Thompson Middle School Chess was founded at Haines Middle School by Mr. Otterby in 2015.

Our goals are to successfully and properly learn how to play Chess. Members are taught to understand the challenging aspects of Chess to improve knowledge and critical/creative thinking. In addition, our club brings students, faculty, families, and community together around the lessons and benefits of Chess.
