Strategies in Antichess

Idk what luck you have but almost every queen race you have there is one move that forces you a loss but 99% of people don't find it :(
Nice blog, cFlour!
For the position you put in as a challenge, Stockfish's recommended move was Rc3, attacking the c7 pawn and forcing black to take another piece. It threatens to open up the rook on the a file, which can be a problem for black.
I think of Qc2 with the same idea, but I guess white is giving up the queen, and the a pawn is still defended, so it's not such a good move.
As a higher class player, I hope you can give your detailed explanation as to why Rc3 works and not Qc2 or any other. Thanks!
@Non-imaginaryNumbers the point of Qc2 is that we don't give up the queen after Qxc7, while black is forced to. Here now we can restrict black as much as we want as queen has more taking options. The best move therefore is Rd8, at which we can just take on a7. With the rook, this is not so much forcing as rook has relatively less options.

The main point of Qc2 is to go into a queen race if black decides to go Qxg2 Qxh1.
@cFlour Now I'm thinking, if I was white in that position, Qc2 and Qxc7 would be my continuation no matter what black played. Bringing the rook out seems counter-intuitive, and I can either force black to play defense if the queen is sacrificed or trigger a complex enough queen race (a.k.a no easy mate with best play).
I'll take note of this position and your explanation on it. Thanks!
Nice blog! Haven't actually studied any antichess in forever, just sticking off knowledge from a year ago lol
