at your level I recommend playing your queens pawn 2 squares forward, you can learn the Nf6 and other complicated stuff later
The Slav defense. You mirror his first pawn move, and if he plays the Queen's Gambit you play c6. It's easy and reliable (learn it though) and you can think of it as a Caro-Kann against d4.
