Weekly summary and analysis #2

AnalysisChess
Hope on the horizon. New training method is working!

Introduction

Welcome to the analysis of the second week of my chess games in the new year. This week I played one game every day at 15+10 tempo on chess.com. I played a total of seven games, which were quite well. This week was much better than the previous week. You can read about the previous week here.

Game analysis

Today at the end of the week, after playing all the games of the week, I did a deeper analysis of the games. Of course, it is not as accurate as the analysis of the classical game, where I analyze without the engine at the beginning. Here I analyzed with the help of the engine.

During the analysis I check if I played the opening according to my studies. Then I look for moments where I made a mistake or failed to take advantage of my opponent's mistake. I transfer all these mistakes and oversights to a special study on Lichess called "Mistakes". In the study, I sort them by type (for example: tactic, strategy mistake, incorrect counting of variants, opening, endgame). That way I know what I have problems with and what I need to work on.

Statistics

Week #2:
January 6th ---> January 12th
Wins: 4 | Draws: 0 | Loses: 3
Ranking: 1903 ---> 1924
Ranking change: +21
Performance: 2033
Average accuracy: 86.9%

Conclusion

I'm struggling mostly with the endgames. I need to work on them. I just bought the book "100 Endgames You Must Know" and I'm going to start working through it.

This week I made the following mistakes:

Type of mistakeHow many
Losing piece1
Losing pawn2
Pawn endgame2
Rook endgame3
Strategy3

You can check my games from this week here.

Ending

As you can see, the new training methods are starting to work. I can already see the effects. I will continue to improve them.

That's all for today's blog post. If you liked this method leave a heart so I know you want to see more methods like this.
