account closed right after resigning?

I played a game, it was with inaccuracies, mistakes and errors on both side.
He resigned: a bit early, given that there were opposite bishops on the board and my b7 pawn very weak (I estimated during the game I will lose it - and SF confirms. But dont get fooled by SF evaluation: it is hard to win an opposite bishops endgame.

He resigned and I wrote "wtf?" and "opposite bishops!", then I looked at his username and noticed the lamp wasnt "green" anymore = he wasnt online anymore.

And mouse-over his name revealed his account was closed! Just 10 or 20 seconds at most after he resigned I already noticed his account was closed.

Does that happen automatically in some severe TOS violations? But if TOS violation happened (I really wonder, given the many mistakes on both sides), it should display a red label "This user violated lichess TOS".

My impression is, he was resigned automatically, together with closing his account. Is something like this possible?

Yes. When a player is banned, lichess resigns their ongoing game or if it is just starting, aborts it.
Lichess also closes accounts if the person is multiaccounting to ban evade or his actions are severe

Dude, this site sucks, it doesn't work. No moderators. No support. No use, just for annoyance.

If you curse once you'll feel how many mods you are surrounded with.

Yep, been happening for a long time. I remember years ago watching a John Barthlomew Lichess-Plays stream where an opponent account he was already familiar with, was resigned and booted on like move 8 or 9. Going through normal theory, nothing special, pow, game ends. I could tell he was quite disappointed because he knew who the acct was. I asked about it next time we talked and he had no idea why they were banned. That was almost certainly in 2021 as he was the one who got me to open my acct here for studies and it was not long after we first met. So at least 4 years ago they had automated bans.

When an account gets ToS banned, their ongoing games are autoresigned but not rated anymore. Since White actually lost rating points in this game, it seems that they rather closed their account themselves, perhaps as a severe form of ragequitting.

But... Idk, even though I first wrote "wtf" and "opposite bishops" (which took me less than 10 sec) then saw he wont answer anymore as his green lamp was off, and mouse over revealed a text "this account is closed".

I mean, who rage quits AND then closes his account within 10 seconds?
And the position is bad for white, yes, but it wasnt like he just had blundered a piece. Actually, the position isnt totally lost, is it? It is losing, but that is quite a difference. Resignation is not to be expected here, especially given I was a bit under time pressure. (a bit more than 1 minute left in an incremental game, not that severe, but I felt the pressure alright).
