Feature request: creating several different challenges

This was already brought up in

and I want to bump it.
Even the featureless chess.com has this option and I don't understand how it is still not implemented. If I want to play a rapid game, I don't care if it's 5+5, or 10+0, or 8+1 -- what I care about is finding an opponent before I get old and die. Waiting times are extremely high even when I'm rated only 2400, and I find myself constantly missing potential opponents just because they chose a challenge with a slightly different modality.
This doesn't only apply to strong players, but generally to anyone whose preference is not widely shared, e.g. lovers of rare variants. And this is not a matter of convenience, but basically a deal-breaker, unless one is willing to wait forever whenever they feel like playing.
Thanks.

rated only 2400
To put things into perspective: "only 2400" means top 0.3% of the rapid pool.

The idea itself sounds useful but I'm not sure what should it look like in practice. Selecting a list of few discrete time controls would be only a partial solution of your problem ad it might grow the list of available challenges a lot if the feature became widely used. You might rather want to specify an interval, e.g. "10-15 minutes base time with 3-5s increment", but then it would be unclear how to determine the time control if someone selects such challenge in the lobby.

#2, for reference this is how it looks like on Pychess.org (I cannot seem to find a proper blog announcement to link, so I am going to paste a screenshot instead)
