Apologies for the late report, but here is your season review for the "Premier League" of the Lichess Correspondence League - and we have a new champion!
That honour goes to @CurtVonBardeleben, who narrowly edged out defending champion @ChessDictatorship on Sonnenborn-Berger points after both players finished on 7.5/9 with six wins and three draws each from their nine games (and a draw against each other).
The pair truly were the class of the field, although credit to @weBNimz0 for pushing them close and remaining in contention into the final three rounds before claiming a well-deserved third place.
In truth, this group was hit with more timeouts than would have been expected, hence a lower number of draws than in other groups.
With four players going down (which to me seems a little harsh in a 10-team group!) the likes of @variousfailures and @zbrizkantsar were swiftly cut adrift, the latter and @powerfrog conceding a number of timeout defeats that ultimately consigned them to the relegation places. @djjuergen finished 7th and in the bottom four on tiebreak, but has been granted a reprieve from relegation owing to players dropping out and will remain in Group A for Season 11.
Elswehere, NM Aries65 had a solid season finishing fourth, while both @TavitaBalming and @Hell-Der picked up a vital point apiece from the final three rounds to stay up - Juergen's 2.5/3 in rounds 7-9 was heroic, but not quite enough (until being granted a reprieve).
* A quick disclaimer: I'm not sure how the tiebreaks played out to separate the players finishing 5th to 7th. Hopefully @CarlFromFinland can shed some light... :-) He declared Juergen as finishing 7th...

They will face some serious competition from @Bat_Knight, who comes in as the top seed and highest rated player after being promoted from the second tier last season. A number of places in the top flight are still being decided due to the late finish in Group B.
Both @powerfrog and @variousfailures will line up in the second tier - variousfailures in Group B and powerfrog in Group C.
