Right, we're finally in a position to confirm the outcome of a very competitive Season 10 Group C and state where players have ended up for Season 11.
Congratulations to
@Bat_Knight and
@kulakovma, who claimed the two promotion places. At the other end of the table, commiserations to
@ElPistoleroWW and
@TrueZarathustra who finished in the bottom two and were relegated, with
@CarlFromFinland squeezing his way out of trouble over the final three rounds, ultimately surviving by just half a point.
Newly-promoted
@SoccerProject got off to a flyer by winning his first three games, but a round four defeat against top seed
@Bat_Knight sparked an inconsistent run that saw him lose just a little too much ground. For
@Bat_Knight, the wins kept coming and he swept all before him, scoring a hugely impressive 9/9 that will see him seen as a potential challenger in the top flight in Season 11.
After
@SoccerProject lost ground,
@kulakovma was always the favourite to tie down second spot and they did just that, finishing on 7/9 a point clear of
@SoccerProject.
But with some players withdrawing for Season 11, there was more at play as the final games played out.
@Grand-Suomi had an opportunity to take the final place in the top flight, but let a win slip in their final game against
@kulakovma to ultimately finish fourth in the group and remain in the second tier.
@SoccerProject announced his intention to take a break for Season 11 - had he carried on he would have been in Group A (tier one) next season!
Elsewhere,
@LouGari finished comfortably in midtable, though second seed
@rajuppi flirted dangerously with the relegation zone before a late run of victories pulled him clear.
@StanPetrov always seemed far enough away from the bottom two to be comfortable and survived with something to spare.
While
@TrueZarathustra's fate was sealed early in the final three rounds after three swift defeats, it was really tight between
@CarlFromFinland and
@ElPistoleroWW. The pair drew their round seven encounter and both lost to champion
@Bat_Knight, but Carl's win over
@TrueZarathustra proved enough after
@ElPistoleroWW lost a long final game against
@rajuppi to be condemned to relegation.
