Version 2.4.23

Due to some changes to the broadcast UI I had to publish v2.4.23, which was work in progress. Here is what's new:

  • you can now click on the author of a daily quote to get a list of all of their quotes
  • the local computer evaluation cache has been improved, with move lines that are also accessible by Explorer Evaluation
  • local LiChess Tool engine has been upgraded to SF17.1
  • there is now an extra custom computer engine depth option that applies to practice only. You can now change the custom engine levels from the analysis/study hamburger menu with some sliders - this apparently has some bugs that I will have to address. Some issues with custom depth in practice have been addressed as well. (Thanks Tjuli for the Pull Request on this!! )
  • I have fixed what I've seen, added better translations (Thanks Pascal Golay AGAIN, for his constant help with the French translation), more gambits and openings
  • Quick Actions has an option to show the Practice button there. If you enable it, it will hide the normal Practice button.
  • Also a lot of fixes and a new theme for users of the Prettier Lichess extension. Apparently it's defunct, but it still works and the new theme is designed to fix the issues it has. Don't forget, if you are a browser extension creator and it somehow interferes with LiChess Tools, let me know, so I can fix it.

In the works:

  • improvements of the custom practice depth feature
  • improvements on the spaced repetition feature (Thanks, jonathanglasmeyer!)
  • a new theme for correspondence games played on mobile
  • mouse only interface for features that normally require pressing keys (for accessibility reasons)
  • a new chart on evaluation value mouseover, showing how the various best moves evolved with engine depth

Also in the works:

  • I know I have been threatening this for a while and I apologize, it will have to take some more time, but I will do it: a companion app that will integrate stuff like external databases (Chessbase and SCID) and also replace the Lichess Local Engine app and do a lot of cool stuff that browsers can't really cope with. Unfortunately my life is a little bit hectic right now, so please be patient.
